ELL3 English
We're going to pick our champion topic today. This is one that has passed our first line of testing - where we pair up and challenge our big supporting points with one another. Then we'll write our paragraph.

ELL 1/2 Science
Today we're moving on to our next unit. This is a bit different than originally planned, but we'll be going over our presentations next Wednesday so please be ready to speak.

ELL3 Social Studies
Today we're going over our grammar assigned for homework - and a homework check. Then we'll do rogue waves for our natural disaster. Start thinking about which disaster you would like to present.

ELL 1/2 Social Studies
Today we're going over the answers to page 20 and 21 assigned for homework. Then we'll finish up this last part on the Land of Canada unit. If there's time I'll even do a little intro to our current events unit!

If we have time, here is our NEWSELA article. Set the reading level to "590L" before you start! Remember - this article uses Fahrenheit, not Celsius to measure temperature. In Fahrenheit, water freezes at 32 degrees.

  1. What kinds of problems can cold weather cause? (at least 5!) - Make room to answer this question as you read the article.
  2. What are some ways people warm up in Michigan?
  3. What is hypothermia?
