CLC Class - Grade 12

Leveraging Social Media - CLC Student Project Grade 12

Different platforms have different uses.  But, Linkedin is “THE” site for professional networking. Recruiters report that they actively use it to source candidates and this is part of what makes it an important platform for students to familiarize themselves with and use as a tool to help them meet goals.  People who use LinkedIn update it frequently and use it as a place to share employment history, education, skills, examples of projects completed, awards, commendations, etc.

Students will use the next couple of Connections classes to create a new or update their existing LinkedIn profile.   Once you have a great online professional profile you will find many ways to use it.  For example, a customized LinkedIn URL can be used for things like: post-secondary application, post-secondary networking, scholarships networking, applications, resumes job allocations.
